The Mega Metal eyeshadows are unique because they are the size of a Cream Colour Base, as opposed to a normal shadow, and contain 3.4 grams of product in each. They are retailing for $19.50, which when you look at gram-to-dollar ratio is a lot cheaper than the permanent eyeshadows in MAC's collection.
Sex-pectations is a color I completely overlooked in promo photos because I usually shy away from reds, because they can make the eyes look tired. However, once I saw this in person and swatched it, I couldn't resist! This color is exactly what I wished Coppering was; it's much less orange and more burnt red.

Unflappable was the first shadow that caught my eye when photos for this collection were released. It is a very dark brown with almost a plum/purple tone to it, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I've seen a lot of photos of this one online and in some it looks really black and almost grey, but trust me, this is definitely a brown. It's just really dark!

---
In my eyes, Noir Plum is the prettiest color in the collection. It's a purple with a royal blue duochrome look to it, and is everything I've wished Nocturnelle eyeshadow would be. I plan on wearing this over a dark base on my lids!

---
Dalliance is another shade that I really overlooked in promo photos, because it looks like a green tinted gold, and personally that sounds hideous to me. Once I swatched this one is store though, I was hooked. You can't see any of the green tint once it is applied, and it has the prettiest sheen out of all of the eyeshadows in this collection. I did not have a color like this already!

I think the biggest perk about these shadows is the pigmentation and texture. They are incredibly pigmented with one swipe of the finger or brush, and don't crumble at all! I was amazed that there was no crumbling in the pan or falling off of my brush, because most products always crumble a little bit. The MAC artist at the counter I purchased these from said they are supposed to be crease resistant, therefore you shouldn't need a primer, but I am yet to test that theory. I plan on priming these anyway.
Did you pick up anything from the Peacocky collection?
xx, Allison

Omg the sex-pectations and noir plum are gorgeous! Will you be doing a video using these soon?
ReplyDeletewould you say that dalliance is more gold toned or champagne toned?
ReplyDelete@Nancy Gold!
ReplyDelete@Katie Abshier I haven't planned one out or anything, but I'll probably incorporate at least one of them into an upcoming tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI got Dalliance, Center Stage, Peek At You, and Prance. I loove them all. These are some really great shadows <3
ReplyDelete@AllisonYay, I can't wait to see a tutorial! I think my next step in getting makeup will be to get my first eyeshadow in mac. The coastal scents one is kinda chalky.
ReplyDeletepretty, I probably won't get these though as they are different sizes than the regular mac pans and wouldn't fit as nicely in my palette. Good reason to avoid it right? lol.
ReplyDeleteThey are really nice eyeshadows. Good quality and unique colours, wish I could afford to pick some up :) x

I would love to see Noir Plum over a dark base on the lid. I tried doing that with Deep Truth, but I'm not sure I loved the way that turned out, so I'd love to see you do it with Noir Plum. I know you'll make it look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI picked up dalliance and I've be wearing it everyday. I think I'm going back for the brown and the orangy one.
ReplyDeleteI really want Dalliance, and Unflappable!
ReplyDeleteHello! You have been nominated for the Stylish Blogger Award. Please check out my blog for directions on accepting it! Thanks girl :)

OMG. The first and last eyeshadows are absolutely amazing. I even might buy that last eyeshadow. It's like a beautiful gold silver. All silver's are blue silver and I hate that!
ReplyDeleteI might go back and pick up Prance, Noir Plum & Mating Call.
ReplyDeleteBut I have already bought: Unflappable & Dandizette, Flaunting It & Scandelicious lipglass.

ReplyDeleteI went to a counter today in Germany, initially to get a cream highlighter. But since I am hyping multi-purpose-products at the moment that save time and effort in the morning and also space in my make up bag i wanted something that i can use both on my eyes as a pretty and light everyday shadow and as a refreshing highlighter:) so after talking to the girl at the counter for a while she had the idea to use this shadow in Peek At You as a highlight due to the creamy texture and it turned out very very beautiful used on both my eyes and cheekbones!
