One of the first things I noticed about these glosses is the entire line contains glitter/shimmer. There were not cremes, which was a disappointment to me. I'm hoping that they release some cremes in the future. I was a little skeptical about the glitter, hoping it wouldn't be chunky gross glitter on the lips, and I was pleasantly surprised!
Once you get these on the lips, the glitter is really more of a shimmer, and I couldn't feel it at all. It added a really pretty sheen to my lips and had the perfect amount of pigmentation: not too sheer, not too opaque.
Left to Right: Orchid, Pink Ice, Strawberry---
The first gloss I picked up is called Orchid, and it is a beautiful cool pink shade with gold microshimmer inside. I have been wearing this over pink lipstick and LOVE it.

One thing that is really different about these glosses is the wand. It isn't your typical doe-foot sponge applicator, but more of a two sided flat sponge. It was a little awkward to use at first, and to be honest I wish it was just a regular applicator instead.

---
The next shade I got was Pink Ice. This is a really pretty, light pink with silver microshimmer. I see myself wearing this over nude-type lipsticks or just when I want a pretty light gloss.

---
The last one I got is the gloss that drew my eye to the display in the first place: Strawberry. I think the best way to describe this color is pink-toned summer red. It reminds me a lot of MAC's Love Alert dazzleglass, but with microshimmer instead of straight glitter. It's absolutely beautiful, and is pigmented enough to wear as a red lip all by itself.

Here's some swatches in two different angles of lighting:

Thanks for the swatches! They help a lot when picking at the drugstore..specially with this quality!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your next video!!!
YAY!! :0)
Have a great 2011!!
These look great, I love the Colorburst lipsticks so will definitely try these too. Have to wait for them to be released in Australia, haven't seen them out yet.
ReplyDeleteIf I weren't on project lip product for the year i would soooo go get some of these. lol
ReplyDeleteI stopped today and bought peony and crystal lilac. Crystal Lilac didnt have the shimmer like the rest but instead has a slight duochrome. It was really interesting. I got mine Buy one get one 50% off at Walgreens this morning. I wanted to grab the new colorburst lipstick in petal but my store was out. Bummer. Im on the hunt for it tomorrow however! Loved the haul video.
ReplyDeletevery nice, I want to purchase a couple of these too in more cream shades. I was looking at the Papaya one, but all they had was a tester left.
ReplyDeleteOh, i wanna to try them... but right now i'm in a project pan...
ReplyDeleteNow i understand you how difficult it is when you were doing this...
Kisses!
can you do a review of all of the lip products you got! because I REALLY want to buy most of these :)
ReplyDeleteOooh - those look really pretty! Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteThey look really good! I just wish they would sell Revlon in my country...
ReplyDeleteOh no... my eyes are on the Pink Ice!!!=D
ReplyDeleteI love the Strawberry! I don't think I would have bought it based on how it looks in the bottle, but now that I've seen your swatch I definitely will. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese just came in, in Singapore. I'm planning to buy the hot pink one to go with the Fuschia colourburst lipstick I bought. They were much thicker and did not spread as much as the Super Lustrous glosses when I swatched them.
ReplyDeletei cant wait to try them out. i love the packagine w/ the quilted look. reminds me of chanel. xo
ReplyDeletethanks for the swtaches!
ReplyDeletei defintaly need to pick some up :)
I actually went out and got pink ice from your recommendations, but I hated it! The glitter is ridiculous and there's basically no color, so I went out to return it and got crystal lilac instead. I absolutely love that color, so if you're nc25 or darker, try crystal lilac instead. It has this pretty blue shimmer which can make your teeth look whiter (:
ReplyDeleteAww! None of the images are working? Bummer because I was really curious about these and I just love your blog and the way you lay everything out. Good photos too!
