I received my much awaited E.L.F. order in the mail a couple days ago, and some of the things I ordered were their Studio blushes. When I placed this order, I had a coupon code that gave me 50% off all Studio products, so I was paying only $1.50 for each of these (regularly $3). I decided that instead of trying to guess which shades looked like they would work for me from the horrible website swatches, I would just order the whole line so it would be a sure bet. I didn't order the highlighter blush, and Mellow Mauve ended up being backordered, so I ended up with 7 of them to include in this post.
The first thing I noticed about these blushes is they are very similar to NARS blushes in a few different ways. The packaging is obviously similar: sleek, black, and rectangular. I also noticed a few shades that were definite NARS dopplegangers. However, these blushes contain only 2.75 grams of product, while NARS blushes contain 4.8 grams.
I was really impressed with the pigmentation of these blushes... each and every one I received offered a good amount of color with little effort. While the color selection is a little limited (I would like to see more matte/less frosty shades), I do feel that there is an offering for every skin tone.

My favorites are the bright pinks: Pink Passion and Fuchsia Fusion. Fuchsia Fusion seems like a very close dupe for NARS Angelika and Pink Passion reminds me a lot of NARS Desire.

Overall, if you are looking for some good quality, inexpensive blushes, I definitely recommend these. I like that they are so inexpensive... with their regular price of $3, you can order a couple online without fretting too much over wasting a ton of money on a blush you may not like (though I think you will!).
xx, Allison
I just placed an order, and Pink Passion was the one I picked! So excited to get it in the mail!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I love E.L.F. I recently made a purchase myself. Did you get anything else?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you liked them so much! I've been wanting to try these and, after seeing your swatches, I have a better feel for which colors I think I'll like the best. :)
ReplyDeleteI have most of these aside from the berry and mauve one, they are pretty good. I left the fuchsia one out on my window or something and the light came through the window (on the package) and totally faded it there, so be careful!
ReplyDeleteactually it was pink passion that did not, the fuchsia one is full of glitter.
ReplyDeletei must have pink passion! so fun :D

I'm a yellow-based tan skin-tone, usually a medium in everything face-related like concealer, foundation, and powders. "Mellow Mauve" is perfect for me. It's a little bit too much of a calm red-purple to really be the color I am when I'm embarrassed, as the red pigmentation on my face (redness, under eye circles, lips, cheeks) is all rather deeply blue-red based. Anyway, this blush is still wonderful. Actually quite sexy, I look like I've been out running, or that it's a little too cold out.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't go for bright pinks, but I'm loving Fuchsia Fusion and Pink Passion.

I'm gonna place an ELF order soon, will defenitely order Pink Passion.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!!! I cant believe that I dont have any of these blushes yet as I agree...great deal!!! Definately NARS doppelgangers!
ReplyDeleteI own candid coral and fushia fusion. These have quickly became my favorite blushers! I love the swatches I will have to check out pink passion!
ReplyDeleteI have the Mellow Mauve one and I really, really like it! But, overall, I like Fuchsia Fusion best hehe (:
ReplyDeletei love the colours! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have Candid Coral, I think it's really pretty and easy to wear. I also picked up the bronzer blush duo. It seems to me that it's the exact same blush, so I swapped with a friend. Gorgeous color, but I didn't need 2!
ReplyDeleteI am def going to get fuchsia fusion!! I have a few of these already but I guess I never noticed this one before. Thanks for the post <3
ReplyDeletewow seven elf blushes, you might order a bunch more tarte blushes, girl your collection is going to overflow! ;)
ReplyDeletei suggest a Blushout 2011...meaning you limit the number of blushes you buy this year
Hey! Just wondering, is blushing rose too dark on the cheeks, like... does it not look natural. Or is the natural look manageable? Thanks!! :)
ReplyDeletedoes anyone know how much elf charges for shipping to canada?
ReplyDeleteI just got an E.L.F order in to and ordered Peachy Keen and Candid Coral. They are way too light and frosty for me. They would work ok as hilighters I suppose but I just did not like them. I was expecting a better color payoff with the peach and coral since I mostly have pink blushes. These are not it.
ReplyDeleteI love these blushes they have been my favorite for a long time! Candid Coral, to me, is almost an exact dupe for Nars Orgasm, and their Blushed/Bronzed duo looks just like Laguna.
ReplyDeleteOh man I've been trying to resist making an ELF order for so long.... You're not helping Allison! Haha.

I ordered all of them, and got them in the mail the day I was leaving for Los Angeles, and now that I've tried them, I don't know what I would have done without them on my trip.

ReplyDeleteShipping to Canada worked out to be about $15 for me. Sign up for an account first and wait to get coupons on 50% off and stuff. That makes the s&h worth it.

ReplyDeletepeachy keen is!
ReplyDeleteIs pink passion completely matte?
ReplyDeleteI want Peachy Keen and Bluching Rose! Elf products are the bomb.
