Today's NOTD is my second favorite polish in the new OPI Katy Perry collection (Teenage Dream is my first) and is named after one of my favorite songs on her album: Not Like The Movies. This is a very complex color and very hard to photograph. It is a duochrome gunmetal grey with a subtle green/purple/pink duochrome. It's absolutely beautiful and much more wearable than I expected... this seems to find a way to match all of my outfits! The only disappointment I had with it is that it's pretty sheer. You really need 3 coats to get a solid finish.

I love this color. I have been wearing it for the last week or so!
ReplyDeleteI love this color, but you're right. It is pretty sheer.
ReplyDeleteyes yes yes:) i just got a sampler pack of the Katy Perry OPI shades, and in trying to figure out which ones to get i KNOW i'll get this one :)
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!
Does anyone know if this is similar or very much alike to the Sephora by OPI's Mash-Up from the Glee collection???
ReplyDeletei would wear it! i'm actually going to go back to ulta to get it soon :)
ReplyDeletecould we maybe call this a sort of dupe for black pearl?
ReplyDeleteor is that just wishful thinking from an owner of "not like the movies" who wont shell out $25 for a nail polish?
=)
What a lovely colour!
ReplyDeleteOh my god, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIf u can't find this. Grey's Anadomy from Wet m Wilds fast dry collection sounds like a dupe. Oh an Sally Hanson's Strobelight from the extreme wear collection is a dupe for Teenage Dream.
ReplyDeletethe color is gorg! would definitely wear it!
ReplyDeletecute post!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove this style!!=P
follow u of course
xoxo
Revlon's Silver Screen seems to be a good dupe for this. Haven't tried it out yet, but I think I'm gonna go with that one instead of OPI since you said it was sheer.

I can wear this on my nails for a week straight and not be tired of looking at it and telling different people about how it looks different under different lighting.. and it looks amazing layered under Black Shatter :)

ReplyDeleteThis color is exactly the same as Mash-Up from their Sephora glee collection. unfair.
