Attention bloggers: I have found the most opaque nude polish, ever (in my experience). Allow me to introduce Essie's "Sand Tropez", a gorgeous light taupe-y nude that gives almost complete coverage in ONE coat. I could not believe my eyes. Usually, nude polishes require at least 3 coats (sometimes 4) for an opaque finish, but this one offered almost-complete coverage in just one. It actually was entirely opaque on a few nails in one coat, but I did an extra coat to bring the rest up to speed.
natural light, 2 coats
One thing I really love about this color is its shade. Most nudes have a beige/pink/peach tone to them (OPI Tickle My France-y, OPI Samoan Sand, Essie Topless & Barefoot), but this polish has a unique taupe-y "greige" accent to it. I am in love.
Sand Tropez is from Essie's French Affair collection for Spring 2011. Would you wear it?
xx, Allison
I was just looking at this today :) I've never tried Essie so I might have to!
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful! I have yet to find a nude polish that I really really love so I may have to pick this one up once my makeup buying ban is over... haha =)

I did a post about this collection today too, I picked up the mini cube, but also got Sand Tropez in full size because it's just that great. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm buying this tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteI love this color! I have seen it in the store, but it didn't look that interesting until now. I love the "greige" color to it, and I may have to get it now! I have Sephora OPI's color in Leotard Optional, which is on the darker side of nudes, but it went on really nicely in just two coats as well!
ReplyDeleteooh this looks really nice~!! thanks for sharing-will check this out asap<3
ReplyDeleteI have it, use it, and love it. My best friend just used it and she fell in love. It looks meh in the bottle, but on the nails its flawless.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty color. I'm not sure how a nude will look on me though. I might have to try this one out!

ReplyDeleteP.S. I just discovered your blog and youtube videos a few weeks ago and LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wear this color! I was just at Target yesterday looking at the Essie collection. Now I have to go back to see if I can score that color.

Reminds me of coffee with creamer... love the color; such a warm look. :)
ReplyDeleteIt really looks like sand, it looks pretty with your skintone, but I don't think I would wear it
ReplyDeleteIf you ever get the chance (if you come to the UK!) try out Accessorize - Fudge, a nude that is totally opaque in one coat, one of my favourites! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this! I keep looking at this color in the store and then putting it back.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites from this collection!
ReplyDeleteNext to French Affair and Coat Azure...

ReplyDeletelooks lovely!
ReplyDeletei would surely wear it!!!
after this post, it'll be my next order as a matter of fact! ;)
You should try Elf's Dessert haze. I quite like it =) It's not opaque in one coat, but it is in 2. It also is a taupy-grey nude. And for 1$, what do you have to lose!
ReplyDeleteI love this shade. I have used it twice in a row and I never do that. Just took it off to replace with For Audrey by China Glaze. Love your NOTD!
ReplyDeletelove this blog!
ReplyDeletemaybe you, or some others could check out mine? :)

I definitely caved and purchased a bottle! I painted my nails last night, it went on very smoothly, and I love the color! Hopefully I'll be able to take a couple pictures and post my own blog on it. :]
ReplyDeleteI saw your April Fool's video and that was hysterical!! I honestly thought, who keeps candles in her purse, this girl is prepared? LOL. That was a good one!!
ReplyDeleteLove this color!!! I have three colors so far from the Spring 11 Essie Collection and I am in love with all of them. This might be the 4th I add to my collection. ;)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I just came across your blog today through missglamorazzi's youtube and I am loving your videos, and your blog!
I agree, it's a great nude color and unique in that it's not too pink, which makes it a bit more realistic as a nude. I got a similar effect as well: Essie Sand Tropez
ReplyDeleteDid you end up liking Essie Topless and Barefoot ? I know it's a pinker share but it's really cute if you pair it with Kisses and Bises. Take a peek if you're curious. I think it works great for spring.
I have this color and it is one of my go-tos!
ReplyDeleteoff to buy it!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe colour is gorgeous! But it look good on someone with a medium skin tone?
ReplyDeleteI love this shade too but I love "Brooch the subject"! That, for me, is the most incredible nude I have ever seen!
