For those of you not familiar with what a Z Palette is, it is a magnetic open palette that you can place any kind of metal pan makeup product in. You can see in these photos that I have a blush (Kevyn Aucoin 'Doline') and eyeshadow (MUFE #47) in their pan form. These don't have magnets on the bottom, but snap in just in their pans because the actual palette is magnetized. This is handy because you can put an unlimited number of product combinations in these. Going on a trip? Throw in a few eyeshadows and blushes. Want to depot all of your MAC shadows? This will hold ~30 of them!
Here is a size comparison with the Large Palette (filled with my Makeup Designory shadows). As you can see, they are the same length, but the Pro Palette is slightly wider.
Here is a comparison between the Pro Palette and Small Palette.

These palettes can be purchased at ZPalette.com. The new Pro Palette retails for $28.00 and currently only comes in black. If you are new to Z-Palette, I would definitely choose the Pro Palette over the Large Palette, for size sake.
Do you like keeping products in palettes or individually?
xx, Allison

wooh love the z palettes such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteI have also a leo-print Z-palette.. so cute :)
ReplyDeleteand its much easier than storing the eyeshadows individually !!!

The Pro palette is also deeper than other version, making it better suited to store pressed face powders, blushes, bronzers, etc.
ReplyDeleteI currently have both the small & large Z palettes, and I absolutely love them! The fact that they have a clear lid so that you can easily see what products are in which palette is such a smart design element.
ReplyDeleteI have not de-potted any of my shadows. I love having individual ones to just throw in my make up bag for an overnight or a weekend. I know that I will definitely break down and go on a de-potting rampage soon. It'll be nice to customize a palette that I can take with me wherever...

Ahh I've been thinking of getting a Z Palette for the longest time ever! Just wondering.. what kind of material are they made of? I totally feel like depotting my Nyx shadows :)
ReplyDeleteAre the new palettes deeper? I depotted my Benefit Hoola and it's too thick so the lid doesn't close very well :(
ReplyDeletegreat comparisons!

I love the idea of using a palette. I'm new to MAC and it's hard to tell which shadow is which now that I have about 10 of them.
