Today's featured product is another OCC favorite of mine: Loose Colour Pigments. OCC is known for having some of the most pigmented products around, so it's no surprise that these shadows pack a punch. I purchased my first OCC Loose Colour Pigment at IMATS NYC (the one without the sifter, because I've pressed it), and loved it enough to get two more at IMATS LA!
Each jar contains 2.5 grams of product, which is more than enough to press into an eyeshadow (if you desire) and have some left over. This is what I did with the mint green shade, which is why there is no sifter/less product shown.
These apply to the skin extremely easily and are absolutely beautiful. I like them because they are fine pigments, but not the kind that is so fine and powdery that you can't even work with them. They also last all day (over a good primer) and blend easily. Now for swatches!
Which do you prefer: loose shadows or pressed?
xx, Allison

I think I prefer loose because you can get more color on your brush than with pressed. I hate when you have a really pressed eye shadow and you have to dig at it with your brush to get some of the shadow on it.
ReplyDeleteSmote is gorgeous! Personally, I like loose because I think they blend better than pressed (or maybe it's all in my head...haha)
ReplyDeleteWould you mind doing a tutorial on pressing pigments? Do you know if you can press NYX Pigments?
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous. I like loose a little bit more because they seem to have more of a color pay off. My favorite kind is from Bare Escentuals. Silly question...if you press the loose will it still have the same color pay off??
ReplyDeleteI prefer pressed for simplicity's sake, but I do own quite a few loose eye shadows from when I went on a bare minerals binge! those shadow look great!
ReplyDeletei would kill for smote! great shadows :)
ReplyDeletecan you do a tutorial using those? im interested in buying some! thanks
ReplyDeleteOh, those are really pretty! I love them!
