The same day I purchased Chanel's Quartz nail polish, I made the mistake of swatching one of the eyeshadows from their latest collection, the Ombre Essentielle shadow in Fauve. This shade is a plummy taupe, and as soon as I swatched it on my skin, something about the finish captivated me. I think of it as a cooler MAC Satin Taupe on steroids. It just has more oomph!
One thing I love about Chanel products is the packaging. The simple, glossy black casing with the Chanel logo makes a statement while remaining very classy.
In my experience, Chanel shadows always have wonderful pigmentation and wear really well. Taupe is always in for fall, and I'm excited to wear this all over my lid for a smokey effect! Here's a swatch!
Overall thoughts: It's a fantastic product, but unless you are an extreme taupe lover (such as myself) or looking to splurge $28.50 on an eyeshadow, I do feel like you can find other beautiful taupe shades for a fraction of the price that you would be happy with as well. This product definitely isn't a "must have", just a "nice to have".
