FINALLY, a company has heard all of my telepathic requests to make a dark green gel liner! I was at my local drugstore the other day, and saw that Maybelline has released a new limited edition collection for fall inspired by Fall Fashion Week. One of the items of this collection is a new gel liner shade called Forest: a deep, forest green color that is absolutely to die for.
I've seen other companies release green gel liners (MAC has had two in recent collections), but they are always much too light/bright for my taste. I want my green liner to be green, but dark enough that it actually still serves the purpose of darkening and defining my lash line. I plan on pairing this with warm neutral shadows.
Here is Forest compared to the Maybelline Eye Studio Blackest Black gel liner. You can really see the green in Forest in this comparison.

I've been using the Maybelline Eye Studio gel liner in Blackest Black for a long time and have always been really impressed with the quality, so I'm sure Forest will be the same. You should be able to find this product at your local CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid... don't look in the normal Maybelline area, but look on the special displays in the makeup section! Limited products are usually never in with the full line, they are always on a plastic/cardboard display somewhere else.

this looks like a greener eye liner form of mac's eyeshadow in stike a pose! i think i just got inspired to use the stike a pose as eyeliner!

ReplyDeleteI told myself I couldn't buy it because $8 is too much for a product I'll never use (I'm always in a hurry, so pencil eyeliners are more practical for me) but then I saw it on sale at Target, and I had a coupon so I couldn't resist x) Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I'm so excited to wear it!
