Today's NOTD is Deborah Lippmann's "Today Was a Fairytale", and is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen. No one does glitter like Deborah Lippmann, and this blue-toned silver chunky glitter is the epitome of a fairytale in a nail polish. I love that Deborah uses song titles to name all of her polishes, because I am also a fan of the Taylor Swift song.
The downfalls to this polish are its application and price. It is a sheer glitter, so expect to apply 3-4 coats of this to get a solid appearance, and then wait a good 20 minutes for it to fully dry. This polish isn't cheap either: it costs $20, and is priced higher than the rest of the Deborah Lippmann line. I do think this polish is uniquely beautiful, and therefore could justify the splurge, but it certainly isn't budget friendly.
Would you wear it?
xx, Allison

Yes, I have Across The Universe as well... it is SO beautiful. One of the most unique polishes I've ever seen! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you apply enough coats of chunky glitter, you should be able to peel it off of your nails pretty easily because it tends to stick together. If that doesn't work and you still have a good layer on, a little trick I discovered is taking a nail file and lightly filing the top of my nail. If you have enough glitter on, the file won't actually touch the nail itself (so no damage done), but will loosen up a bunch of the glitter. Hope that helps! :)
ReplyDeletethat's really pretty, but i can't justify spending that much on something that'll require more than 2 coats to opacity.
ReplyDeleteI just cant spend that much on a polish =[ my nails chip often & since I'm in the Army I cant have fancy nails on my hands anyway so all fancy stuff goes on my toes! haha

These polishes are gorgeous, but an absolute nightmare to remove!
ReplyDeleteYou should tell us when you take it off.. if its easy to take off. I've had glitter polishes that I literally had to scrape off with like a toothpick or something for each individual glitter. It sucked!
ReplyDeletesooo adorable on you, but I know this would not look good on me
ReplyDeleteLove this nail varnish! Do you know if they sale them in the UK? :)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness. That color is gorgeous!
