Today's NOTD is another polish from the new Posh Paradise collection, Rain of Flowers. This is a very dark purple with violet and blue shimmer in it, and if you look in the right light, it is gorgeous. Unfortunately, you can't really see the true beauty of this polish in normal light; you need to be in sunlight or another direct light to really appreciate it. Here it is in normal, natural light:

natural light, 2 coats
And here, in direct sunlight, you can really see the violet-blue shimmer to it:

direct sunlight, 2 coats
The consistency was a little thin (you can see the polish bled/ran into my cuticle area quite easily), but overall wasn't too hard to work with.
Overall thoughts: Unless you're absolutely in love with this polish, you could spend a fraction of the price on another dark purple shimmery polish for the same effect, considering you can't really distinguish the true shimmer in this polish easily.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
xx, Allison
I'm a sucker for purple and shimmer in a polish but this one is a bit too dark to show off the beauty of it, I agree. I think they kind of missed the mark with this one sadly :-/
ReplyDeletewhat dupe would you recommend?
ReplyDeleteOPI Ink, for sure. It's a bit lighter, so the shimmer shows more, and half the price!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty :)
ReplyDeleteIt could also be a Russian Navy by OPI dupe, always hard to tell. ;)
ReplyDeletelove it
ReplyDeletei love dark purple for fall. what top coat do you use? your nails always look so glossy and shiny.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty color.

I love love love this colour!!! I have a nail varnish kind of like this one from 17 called 'Midnight Sapphire', although it doesn't have the gorgeous purple glitter :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!! Navy is one of my favorite colors to wear. It looks great on you. Are you sporting short nails for a reason? (Not that I don't like them. I really do!!!)
ReplyDeletewow really nice color....

I got this the first time this came out an returned it only because it looks so much like OPI InK plus I think OPI's quality is alot better
ReplyDeleteShe uses seche vite dry fast top coat:)I really think you should try it, very good top coat dries super fast and leaves a very glossy finish.I have it and will keep buying it forever:)
ReplyDeleteI was in MAC yesterday and I was thinking of getting this polish, but like others have said, it's so similar to OPI's "Ink" that I put it back. It looks lovely on your nails, especially in the second photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah I've been keeping my nails short lately. I've just been so busy with everything else going on in my life that I don't really have the time to "baby" them and grow them out, haha. I think short nails can look very chic too, so it's a win-win for me! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, as Merly said, I use Seche Vite top coat, and love it! However, I've also been using the Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat, which is very comparable to Seche Vite, so much so that I use them interchangeably now. The Sally Hansen one is a little easier to find I think, and both top coats are the glossiest I've found! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
ReplyDeletenice shade!!!
