These are the new Sam Edelman "Roza" heels, and I'm pretty sure they say, "I might pull a gun out from under my cocktail dress and assassinate you." Look at those spikes! Who needs pepper spray when you have the shoes equivalent of ninja throwing stars?

This is the latest version of a shoe Sam Edelman has been carrying for a couple seasons now. They have a similar spike heel feature in an open toe pump (Lorissa) and a bootie (Renzo), but all of the spikes I have seen up until now have been either black or silver. I've always admired the shoe, but it was the gold spikes that sent me over the moon.

The upper of the shoe is black velvet, which I think makes it awesome for the fall and winter (or any top secret mission). The toe rounds to a slight point at the tip, but for wearability's sake feels round on my feet.

I also love that all of Sam's shoes have an animal printed insole. I've heard a lot of people say that cute insoles are stupid, but I beg to differ. I think a cute insole serves the same purpose as a cute matching underwear set: sure, everyone may not see it, but it makes you feel pretty and feminine anyway, which is what counts!

According to the Zappos website information, this heel is 4.5" in total height and has a 1" hidden platform. I found them to be as comfortable as any heels this height could be, and the 1" platform definitely adds a bit of cushion for my toes. I also found that these run true to size: 95% of the time I'm an 8, and that size fit perfectly for me in this shoe.
Here are some photos of how the shoes look on my feet!

I've heard people complain about the weight of these shoes from all of the spikes, but I don't feel like they are that heavy at all. Certainly not heavy enough to make walking any (more) difficult.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this purchase. The price ($225) is steep-- it took me four days to convince myself to make the splurge. However, I reasoned that a pair of heels this badass does not come around every season, and would regret passing them up for my entire heels-wearing-young-adult life. This style also comes in an animal print, and you can click here to view them on Zappos.com.
Would you wear them?
xx, Allison

ReplyDeleteWow I LOVE THESES HEELS!!!! They are super sexy and edgy. I would love to invest in these, but I'm afraid they will go out of style. Therefore, I'm hesitant to buy them since they retail for $225!
