MAC Glitter and Ice: Mineralized Eyeshadows Swatches & Review!

MAC Holiday is here!! MAC is releasing a plethora of holiday products this year, and their Glitter and Ice collection is definitely the stand out for me. This is the "individual" product collection (no gift sets, etc.), and MAC teamed up with Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir to design it. The outer packaging is silver, and the product packaging is sleek, white, and all the names have something to do with winter/figure skating! I picked up a few of the mineralized eyeshadows (among other things, to be covered in another post).


I'm not usually a fan of MAC mineralize eyeshadows. I rarely like the colors and the quality is really hit or miss. I loved the color selection for this line though, so I picked up three shades: Snow Season, Hold That Pose!, and Winterized.

These shades definitely have an icy-cool winter vibe to them, and the color payoff is pretty good! They definitely aren't as pigmented as a regular matte shadow, but are certainly usable. My favorite of the three is Winterized!

  1. I really like them! Winterized looks lovely I might need to pick it up. I got the Ice Parade - Viva Glam lip bag, and Whirls & Twirls lipstick from the collection (it's really sheer, pretty disappointed) LOVE the gaga shades though - I just posted about them www.nixolaslalaland.blogspot.com would love if you checked it out :P xxx

  3. Those are pretty. I'm not really a big mineralize eyeshadow fan...like you said, they are hit or miss. I'll probably wait until they hit the CCO.

  7. I LOVE the packaging this winter but I haven't actually been blown away by the colours of the eyeshadows - I'm not a huge fan of mega-frost so maybe not for me! Looking forward to seeing what else you got though :D

  9. I got the Morning Frost Paint Pot, I love it!! It's right beside me here on my desk and I can't stop looking at it. I stood in front of the Glitter and Ice collection for ages today, I couldn't make up my mind, might have to pick up some of the mineralise eyeshadows now!

  22. The Winterized on MAC's website looks really blue????? I LOVE the swatch color though, but it looks so different MAC's site, it makes me nervous to order it.
