Nail of the Day: OPI Designer... De Better!
Today's NOTD is the second polish I picked up from the OPI Muppets holiday collection: Designer... De Better! I love the name, and this taupe/champagne foil isn't something you see every day. It definitely stands out on my nails, but is a neutral color so it goes with everything! It also only needs one coat for full coverage (I added an extra one to double check that the color didn't change).

ReplyDeleteI have this polish too! And for those asking about how it compares to Orly Rage - they are both foil/metallic polishes, but that's where the similarities stop, at least for me. Orly Rage applies more sheer (Allison was right - 2 coats for total opacity for "Designer... De Better!"), and is a rose-gold. Although this comes off as sort of gold-toned in the picture, it is actually a silver foil with copper fleck. :-) It's a very unique polish!!

ReplyDeleteI just bought this too, but haven't used it yet. It definitely reminds me of Orly Rage, which I have on now. These style soft metallics are my fav, so having 2 similar ones won't bother me a bit.
ReplyDeleteI really like it, and it goes well with the last MAC collection, but I'm sure I'd wear this on all my nails, I'd probably do a more neutral color like "Metro Chic" in the colder months and a minty green in the summer and use this color on my ring finger as an accent nail... :)

I'm wearing it right now! I bought this and Rainbow Connection (I'm thinking it will look pretty layered on top for a holiday party or New Year's Eve look) last week and couldn't wait to get it on my nails. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI tried Orly Rage, OPI for Sephora's Already Famous and Designer de better on the same hand. The closest was Already Famous, however Designer de better has more sparkle, and Rage is more pink and foil. I like DDB best.

ReplyDeleteSoo pretty! But I think I'll skip out on picking this up because I already own China Glaze's Swing Baby which looks super similar to this because it's got that taupe-y champagne gold foil color. I also own Orly's Rage, but that one is def more of a rose gold.
