Monday Questionnaire: January 31st, 2011

Sorry this is going up so late today! Things have been pretty hectic lately. I've decided to do a little blog challenge for myself for February... post every day! This is going to be a big one for me because I rarely do more than 2 posts a week, so I need to come up with 28 posts for this next month. Expect a lot of product swatches, NOTD's, and more! Wish me luck! Now on to the questions...

The MAC Wonder Woman collection released on the MAC website today... a week and a half earlier than it's official release date! Are you planning on getting anything? http://www.maccosmetics.com

Nail of the Day: OPI Katy Perry "Teenage Dream"

I finally got my hands on the Katy Perry OPI collection, and the first polish I had to get on my nails is Teenage Dream. When I saw promo photos of this, I thought is would be really similar to OPI's Pink Before You Leap, but it is very, very different. The glitter in this is very flaky and chunky, in a good way, and is multicolored (as you can see in the photos below). It isn't too sheer either, 2 coats was plenty (although I did a 3rd just to make sure). I absolutely love it (and the name!).

Stay tuned for NOTD's of the rest of the collection!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss: Swatches & Review

Revlon has released a line of Colorburst lip glosses for spring, which have the same matte plaid package detailing as their Colorburst lipstick predecessors. I couldn't resist picking up a few of these (among other things... watch my haul video here), and I got a lot of requests to do some blog swatches for you! These can be purchased anywhere Revlon cosmetics are sold, and I have seen them range anywhere from $6.50 (WalMart) to $7.99 (Rite-Aid).

Monday Questionnaire: January 24th, 2010

Happy Monday bloggers! It's time for another Monday Questionnaire. If you ever want to suggest a question to show up on a future questionnaire, feel free to leave it in a comment below or at the end of your "response" questions. I would love to know what questions you all would like to see on here!

Also, on a quick side note, I know a lot of you are nail polish addicts such as myself, and I am in desperate need of a new, efficient way to store my polish. I've been using plastic bins, each polish upright, but I have literally run out of places to set bins in my room. So I'm thinking a wall mountable rack may be a good idea, but I am not really sure where the best place to buy one, in store or online, is. If any of you have any expertise in this area, please help a sista out!

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day...

Nail of the Day: Jesse's Girl Confetti

Allow me to present to you the hardest polish to photograph. EVER. Today's NOTD is Jesse's Girl "Confetti", which is a gorgeous duochrome violet blue shade. It looks like a dead ringer for Rescue Beauty Lounge's "Scrangie" polish ($18), but is only a fraction of the price ($2)! I've been eyeing RBL's Scrangie forever, so when I saw this in the drugstore I didn't even hesitate to toss it in my basket.

Nail of the Day: OPI Cajun Shrimp

Today's Nail of the Day is one of my all time favorites: OPI Cajun Shrimp. This is a bright red/orange/coral cream color that is the perfect summer red, yet I find myself wearing it year round. I always get a lot of compliments on it when I wear it because it really stands out nicely!

Would you wear it?

Monday Questionnaire: January 17th, 2011

Hello bloggies! Can you believe we are already halfway through January? I swear this year is going to fly even faster than the last one!

I redid my headboard decorations this last week, and I found the perfect Valentine's Day touch to add... a string of hearts! ♥

MAC Peacocky Mega Metal Eyeshadow Swatches

I picked up a few of the new Mega Metal eyeshadows from the new MAC Peacocky collection, and I'm so impressed with them I wanted to do a blog post about them. This collection was released the first week of January 2011 and features eyeshadow and lip glosses.
The Mega Metal eyeshadows are unique because they are the size of a Cream Colour Base, as opposed to a normal shadow, and contain 3.4 grams of product in each. They are retailing for $19.50, which when you look at gram-to-dollar ratio is a lot cheaper than the permanent eyeshadows in MAC's collection.

Nail of the Day: Chanel Black Pearl

Today's Nail of the Day is from Chanel's Spring 2011 collection, and it is a gorgeous dark shade called Black Pearl. This is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen, and it really is one of those that you cannot appreciate until you see it in person/painted. I looked at photos of this online and thought "nothing special", saw it in store and thought "pretty", painted it and thought "OMFG". It's just that beautiful.

Monday Questionnaire: January 10th, 2011

Hey everyone! I hope you all had great weekends. Today is the first day of a new semester for me, however I don't have class on Mondays this semester (yay!). I'm pretty excited to have Mondays off for a while! Anyway, I have 10 more questions to answer this morning. Please join in and answer them yourself in a comment below too!

I saw this in a Google image search and thought this was beautiful!

Nail of the Day: Revlon Grape Icy

Today's NOTD is Revlon's Grape Icy, and it's special because it is SCENTED. Yes, you read that right. Scented nail polish. Revlon has released a line of nail polishes for Spring/Summer 2011 with all different scents. This one in particular smells like grapes.

I plan on doing a video review on this product, because I have a lot of thoughts about it. For starters, it does actually smell like the bottle says it will, after it dries. I couldn't pick up any grape while I was actually painting my nails. I think it's a little odd that Revlon is promoting scented nail polish though... doesn't the smell of nail polish fumes kill brain cells? I know you aren't supposed to smell it until it's dry, but I was totally huffing this stuff while painting my nails trying to see if I could smell grape. Hmmm.

Nail of the Day: Revlon Copper Penny

I took a stroll through the drugstore yesterday to check out what's new in the cosmetics department, and I stumbled across two new Revlon nail polish releases: metallic polishes and scented polishes. They were Buy One Get One 50% off, so I picked up two metallics and two scented polishes.

Today's Nail of the Day, Copper Penny, is one of the metallics, and OMG I am in LOVE. I bought this thinking it would be fun for summer, and now I know I'm right. This color really is exactly what a brand new penny is in shade, but also has some micro-shimmer to it. I can't wait to rock this on my fingers and toes this summer (and all the months until then), because it is totally a Greek goddess gold/copper/bronze that will look absolutely amazing with a tan.

This polish could definitely be a one-coater, but for swatching sake I did two just to be on the safe side. Would you wear it?

Monday Questionnaire: January 3rd, 2011

It's the first questionnaire of the year! :) I know it must be January because my fingers are frozen as I type this... it's about 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now. I hope everyone is having a great year so far! I focused a few questions on 2011 related topics, given that this is the first questionnaire to kick off the year. On to the questions...

I took this photo New Year's Eve from the street at my parents' house. It was such a beautiful day!
