Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Flirt: Swatches & Review!

Today's featured product is a lipstick from the Chanel Spring 2012 collection. The Rouge Coco Shine in "Flirt" is a glossy, semi-sheer peachy shade. The Rouge Coco Shine formulation is described as a "hydrating, sheer lipshine."

Aside from the quality, one of the biggest reasons I'm drawn to Chanel products is the packaging. Black with gold detailing, and the classic Chanel logo: beautiful!

Here is a look at Flirt swatched on my arm. As you can see, it has a high sheen and isn't entirely opaque. I like this because it makes it something you can easily use on-the-go or for a more natural look. No lip liner or precision needed!

Here is a look at Flirt on my lips:

Now while I am pleased with this purchase and will definitely use it a lot, I find the Rouge Coco Shine formula to be very similar to the Revlon Lip Butters. Thus, I really don't think you need to splurge for the Chanel product unless you are looking for a certain shade the Chanel line offers (that Revlon doesn't). Just my personal opinion! I probably won't be purchasing any more of these, considering the price. One is enough!

This product retails for $32.50 and can be purchased wherever Chanel products are sold!

Would you wear it?
xx, Allison

  3. That is so pretty on you, but yeah for the price no one needs a bunch of these. The occasional treat is enough. :)

  4. It looks so lovely, but the price is really high. I still hope we'll get the Revlon Lip Butters in my country...

  5. Lovely colour but I don't think I could afford more than one - I don't even have one yet! I really hope we get the Revlon Lip butters in the U.K soon, would you say that this shade is similar to any of the Lip Butter shades? xx

  6. You would expect a better shade name from Chanel- "flirt" sounds so typical to me.

  7. This is a beautiful natural color. I own 2 rouge coco shines - and I love them. But I definitely agree that their consistency is similar to Revlon's lip butters (which I am obsessed with) - but I think that the coco shines last longer on my lips than lip butters do.

I love chanel lipsticks...they will always make me remember playing with my mom's make up. And I just think it's such a nice feeling to have a luxury product here and there! But I find it so refreshing to hear that you feel like one is enough and you won't purchase another one, I find so many bloggers out there will never discourage anybody from purchasing anything!

I have actually just started a blog myself and while I hate to advertise myself, I would really be honored if you stopped by :)

  15. Pretty, but WAY too expensive! You could buy about 5 lip butters for that price. I wouldn't be surprised if the formula was exactly the same, and really all you're paying for is the Chanel name and logo.

Good luck with your running Allison! You've inspired me to start running too and you've already taught me a lot. I have really bad ankle pain too, but I got some good shoes with GOOD insoles and I've had no pain thus far!

  16. If I had the money I would wear it for sure...but college on a limited budget only allows for me to get one thing and i am working on building my foundation atm. I would love to get it though in the future!!

  17. The price of those chanel lipsticks in america is the equivalent of a mac lipstick here in australia. Since cosmetics are so expensive here, if I came to america i'd probably buy all the chanel lipsticks haha

  23. beautiful colour and thanks for the heads up about it being similar to the revlon lip butters. I have to get me one of those to try *been hearing so much* I think I will skip the expensive chanel and just invest in a bunch of those. Though I must say that colour looks fabulous! what would you suggest for the dupe in the lip butters?
    thanks bunches

  24. The color looks great with your skin color. Curious to see if it would look good on tanned skin.

  26. interesting post! I was deabting wether or not i need this colour. Could you possibly compare it to MAC's Flamingo lipstick from the Iris Apfel collection?
    thanks!

  27. I love this! I can't buy the Revlon lip butters, because I live in Norway, so I'm probably going to have to splurge on one of these :)

  28. I bought Boy as soon as the shade came out, it was a single-shade limited edition at that time. And I completely ran out of it a few months later. I love the formula and I love that you can reapply it throughout the day without a mirror. But I can totally agree with you in the price tag of these Rouge Coco Shines. Unfortunately i can't seem to find Revlon retailers where I live so that's sad cause I've been craving to try some Color lip Butters!
