When I first looked at the collection display as a whole, I was a little surprised that most of the colors were either very bright or very dark. I decided to pick up three of the lightest shades in hopes they wouldn't be too crazy on me. The three colors I purchased are Fresh Pink, Candy Coral and Orchid Hush.
The actual consistency of this blush is unlike anything I've ever seen or used. In the pan, it looks like a normal, dome shaped powder. However, if you press your finger into it, the blush will form an impression similar to that of memory foam. It is the most bizarre thing! I wish I had a camera on me when I first discovered this, because I basically gasped and squealed. As for the pigmentation, I now realize why most of this line looks bright/dark... these blushes are pretty sheer. I had to build them up quite a bit to get the swatches below:
Here is a look at the blushes after I've played with them... they are all squished in, almost like clay! As for how long they wear, these certainly don't have the longevity of something like the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes, but did hold up a good 6+hours on me. If you are someone who needs a blush that is really long lasting, I would maybe look elsewhere, or layer a powder on top of these!

Next time I catch these on sale, I plan on picking up a few of the "darker" colors I was initially intimidated by. You should be able to find these pretty much everywhere Maybelline is sold. I've seen them at Rite Aid, Walmart, and Target!
Have you tried these?
xx, Allison

I really want to try them but I'm a litte hesitant because the dream mousse blush broke me out really bad on my cheeks.
ReplyDeleteoh wow! these look so fun & interesting! thanks so much for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteBeen dying to try these! WHY do we never get things like this in the UK when they're released in the US? :(
ReplyDeleteI saw these when I went to pick up my mayelline color tattoo eyeshadows and decided to pass after i did a quick youtube search.. but now i kinda think haveing one or too might be great for a blush base to some blushes that arent super pigmented !!
ReplyDeleteNever tried these, I don't think I'll be buying them. Thanks for the review! :)

I want these blushes to come out in Spain!! we never get good things here

I have the pink and the lilac one, the lilac is definitely my favorite, I've never found a blush quite like that color before! The texture is so different too! Really fun product, great swatches!:)

Are these comparable to the Dream Mousse blushes? They seem to be replacing the original line, so I was wondering if they were basically the same product with a new name and packaging or if it was a whole new product.
ReplyDeleteThese look fantastic but god knows when we will get these in the UK :( great review as always :) ymmakeup@blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI really want to touch the blush, lol. It looks so squishy!
ReplyDeleteKindness is the best accessory,
Rebecca
I loved this blushes ! I heard their texture is very unique ! I prefer blushes that are more sheer because I tend to exagerate a bit with them , so I think they would be right for me :)
ReplyDeleteI cant find these anywhere! Im really looking forward to trying them though!

I can't wait to try these!!
ReplyDeleteI can't find these either! I live in Canada so I'm not sure if they've come out there yet... but I've searched nearly every Walmart or drug store near me :(
ReplyDeleteI loveloveLOVE tamale. I would suggest that for a brighter peach look. :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to get some of these but they aren't in Canada yet! hopefully they come soon!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've tried the candied coral one. I think they're an awesome idea and fun to touch, but I had a lot of difficulty actually using them on my face
ReplyDeleteI tried Orchid Hush and wasn't that impressed. It was very sheer, and didn't last even 6 hours. I like the concept, I just wish they were a touch more pigmented.
ReplyDeleteDid you apply these with your fingers or a brush? I wasn't sure what the exact consistency of these would be!
ReplyDeleteI am going to be buying the Candy Coral shade. For some reason, I love the way coral colors look on my cheeks. The Fresh Pink is not for me, but I would try the Orchid Hush. This looks like a good buy. They did really well with their Color Tattoo shadows, so we shall see how these do! :)
ReplyDeleteI was very intrigued by this blush collection! So I dove in without hesitation, and went ahead for the bolder darker colors!!! I got Hot Tamale and Plum Wine!!! these are AMAZING!!! like Allison said they are very unique and interesting. I agree that they are sheer but buildable, at least in my opinion. They last on me for around 6 hours, which for the price you can't beat! I am eyeing other colors in the collection! Try them girls, the look naturally beautiful on!!!
ReplyDeleteI tried both, and found that fingers are the easiest. A stipling brush works but you really have to work it into the pan to pick up color!
ReplyDeleteIt's a whole new product. I personally like the Dream Mousse formulation more! I felt like it wore better and was much easier to use/apply. However, I like the color selection of the Dream Bouncy better.
ReplyDeleteI almost picked up some of these at target last week and decided against it. I'm just not getting into blushes and still am a little unsure about what i would like.
ReplyDeleteI decided to try one of the darker colors, hot tamale, because it was unlike anything I own. I have light skin and it is sheer but you can build it up. I love the color but it does not last all day. It is easy to put in your purse for touch ups since you don't have to carry a brush.
ReplyDeleteha! I have both those colors that you have, they are really good :)
ReplyDeleteI like so much this post. Well done.

I just bought Fresh Pink 2 days ago and I love it! I do wish it was more pigmented and that I didn't have to reapply the color, but I love the overall affect! Thanks for your amazing reviews!
ReplyDeleteit reminds me of clay....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review bc I will not buy them. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteI want those, just so I can play around with them. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteThat coral shade looks nice though...tempted.

haha that is incredibly cute ! cant wait to try them in Aus =D
ReplyDeletexC.
I've seen these but haven't tried. So...do they bounce back when you press them down? And are these cream blushes?
ReplyDeleteThe orchid hush shade is beautiful!!
ReplyDeletehttp://searchforallure.blogspot.com/
I really want these soooo much!! </3 but i cant find them anywhere in the UK
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they almost crumble when you apply to much pressure...Do you think the texture will eventually cause the product to begin to fall out at all?

I agree mine look totally mangled from playing with them to get the pigmentation I wanted however the Hot Tamale one or whatever it's called the reddish one that one has a good payoff it looks nice with neutrals for a pop of color very differenet from anything I had but I also had that baby pink one and it just doesn't show up at all
ReplyDeletedoes the world relly need senseless non-pigmented blush that does somthing (bounce) without any improvement to your makeup?
ReplyDeleteSuch a weird concept but lovely colours!

Hopefully we will see these in Australia soon along with the Colour Tattoo range!
ReplyDeletei sure hope so! so excited to try these!
ReplyDeleteI haven't actually bought these but the way I've heard them described is kind of like the ELF cream blushes from the studio line. They're a very odd spongy clay like consistency. Personally I like them. Actually I'm wearing one right now. But yeah... : )
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for them. I just e-mailed Maybelline asking when they'd be aviable in Germany and they anwered that they don't know yet. But I really wanna try then THIS second!
ReplyDeleteLove these blushes!! Rose Petal is my favorite, especially for spring.
ReplyDeleteI have the orchid hush color and i love it! of course i have to work up to the pigmentation i get but i love the feel of it and i love how it feels on my face.
ReplyDeletehas anyone found these in canada yet and if so where..i checked shoppers drug mart today and no luck
ReplyDeletei bought this today in orchid hush and i'm really not sure what to think about it.. i've only ever had matte blushes.
ReplyDeleteI tried the Coffee (something) color and it is absolutely fantastic. Right off the bat the color is *slightly* more opaque than the others, but it is definitely buildable. The color is this deep coraly brown color, which sounds strange, but it gives a wonderful glow to my skin. Plus I'm in love with the texture and how fun it is to play with!
ReplyDeleteI recently bought 3 never having tried them before. I took your advice and bought some darker ones. I got Hot Tamale and Peach Satin, of the two I would recommend Hot Tamale, of the two. It's a pretty colour and had good colour pay off in the sense that it's not super in-your-face and blends easy.
ReplyDeleteI have "Fresh Pink" and it's a beautiful color once you build it up. The only thing I dislike about it is the fact that they're kind of hard to apply. I'm used to using brushes, or just using my finger for a pinch of blush on a regular cream consistency. However, because of the "bouncy" formula I have trouble getting them from the pan to my face... Lol. :)
ReplyDeleteI have candy coral and I applied it at about 7am and put a powder blush over it (MAC fleur power) and i went to school with it on, went to watch a basketball game.. and when i got home at 9pm i STILL had the blush on... the products alone have NEVER shown me that much longevity but i LOVED how it looked layered and im going to buy brighter colors :)
ReplyDeleteI have Hot Tamale and the Wine colored one and they are both great!
ReplyDeletehow can a blush be bouncy? maybelline here has yet launched anything! well just The Falsies, but i guess it's safe to say that that's old story!
ReplyDeletehey allison you should check out my swatches on 40 pink plum! It's a mid tone pink colour!

i hope so too! dying for the colour tatto range!
ReplyDeleteThese look beautiful, I may have to hound Maybelline for a UK release date! :-)
ReplyDeleteLots of love

are they in Canda?
ReplyDeleteyes that would be wonderful
ReplyDeleteI know!
ReplyDeleteThey look amazing
ReplyDeletemine look just like yours but everyone i see on youtube, theirs look so neat and pretty ... so wierd.. but i do lobe the darker colors so much!
ReplyDeletehttp://johannabamba.blogspot.com/
my favorite is Hot Tamale!
ReplyDeleteI got these a month ago, I wouldn't recommend this product. Hard to put on and the color fades pretty quickly on me, in 3 hours.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't waste your money on these... they don't work very well
ReplyDeleteI got mine in London Drugs!
ReplyDeletehave you tried lookin in London Drugs? Ive found it there.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too! I am just beyond curious about the texture and how FUN they look! But they'll probably be double the price and not really worth it... =/
ReplyDeleteI've picked up one of these (plum wine) and liked it, but didn't love it.
ReplyDeleteBasically I can't forgive maybelline for discontinuing the dream mousse blushes! I have all of them except rose petal and they are a-freaking-mazing.
I think they should have kept the mousse and added the bouncy, because the colour ranges and products are so different that it wouldn't have been confusing/redundant!
