Nail of the Day: Deborah Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad

Today's NOTD is Deborah Lippmann's Good Girl Gone Bad.  This is plum/maroon shade with microshimmer, and I love the name not only because of the song it is named after, but also because I think the color is perfect for it.  This polish is nice and opaque too, one coat was almost enough for full coverage.

The formulation was really easy to work with as well, except I wasn't happy about how it dried.  This polish dries to a semi-matte finish, meaning if you don't use a top coat, it is going to be very flat.  However, even after applying TWO coats of my glossiest top coat, it still had a very flat appearance (see above).  I swear this polish is a magical top coat sponge, because the top coat just disappeared within minutes.  I like my nails glossy enough to see my reflection in them, so this was a definite con for me.

As far as dupes go, the closest one I can think of is the OPI Katy Perry "The One That Got Away", however they are a bit different.  TOTGA (ha! love that acronym) is more red/pink, and the microshimmer is even more micro.

If you love the color and don't care about glossiness, you would probably really like this polish.  If you are a stickler about glossy nails, this isn't for you (especially with its $18 price tag).
