Today's NOTD is a polish from Essie's Summer 2012 collection called Bikini So Teeny. Yeah, the name of this polish alone is adorable. I would describe Bikini So Teeny has a true periwinkle: blue with a hint of purple. When looking closely at the bottle, you can see a very subtle silver shimmer in the polish, but once painted, it is virtually non-existent.
The formulation on this was really good, two coats was plenty for full opacity. I just love how this is a touch different from all of the other light blues companies have released lately. As far as dupes, I don't know one off the top of my head (I know China Glaze has a periwinkle polish though). The closest Essie comparison I could think of is Lapis of Luxury (from Resort 2010), but that is much more blue and a little darker.
I found this polish at my local Rite Aid for $8. It can also be found at Ulta, Nordstrom, and independent retailers.
Would you wear it?
xx, Allison

I've been looking for a baby blue like that without shimmer or sparkle.I can't wait to get it! Thanks for the review. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy best friend's bday is coming up and she loves Essie (although her wallet doesnt- twelve year olds tend to have a small income) and her favorite color is periwinkle. I'll definitely be checking this out at my Target!
