Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains: Review & Swatches!

Today's featured products are another one of Revlon's new releases, the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.  I never tried the original Just Bitten lip stains, but the idea of a balm/stick form appeals to me more, so I picked some of these up.  They remind me of the Tarte Lipsurgence balm stains or the new Clinique Chubby Sticks.

Sweetheart, Honey

These sticks are similar in size to the Tarte Lipsurgence pencils.  The packaging is all plastic, and what I really love is these are mechanical and retractable!  You can simply twist up more product by turning the silver part at the bottom, or retract product the same way.  Very convenient!

Sweetheart

The first shade I chose is Sweetheart, a true bright pink.

I noticed that the colors in this collection are more on the dark/bright side.  I didn't see too many light colors available.  For me, this isn't a line I would turn to if I was looking for a neutral everyday lip color.

Honey

The second shade I chose is Honey, a plum color that I felt would be a bit more wearable than Sweetheart.

Honey

As for the consistency, these are nice and balmy on the lips.  They are exceptionally pigmented, and they do stain.  It literally took a day and a half to get swatches off of my hand.  On the lips they seemed not to stain as permanently, but on nude skin it was very noticeable!  If you want color that will last all day, these are for you.

Sweetheart, Honey

Now for lip swatches!

Sweetheart

Honey

These retail for around $8 each and can be found wherever Revlon products are sold.  In my testing, these products lived up to exactly what they claim to be: staining balms.  They felt nice on my lips and were moisturizing, and really stained for long wear.  I don't wear lip stains all the time (I like switching up colors throughout the day), but I will definitely reach for these when I do!

Do you prefer wearing one lip color all day, or switching it up as the day goes on? I like switching from day to night colors!

xx, Allison

  1. Honey is the nicest out of the two colours personally. They do look at lot like the Clinque chubby sticks in your photos, I still think te packaging of those is odd! I prefer gloss to lipstick so these might be good for me! I havn't seen them out in the UK yet, let's just hope they don't take as long as the Lip Butters to come over here! x

  3. great review, I really want to try these! I saw your latest video and was wondering if you'd mind doing a review on the foundation regarding what skin types it suits, keep up the blog and YouTube, love them! xxx

  4. Oh my gosh these seem amazing. I want them so badly. You mentioned that revlon is your favourite drugstore brand, and mine too! Their products are just such good quality for their prices. Sucks though because these aren't out in the UK yet. I'll be waiting patiently for them though, need them in my life!!

  5. I am so obsessed with these it's not even funny. I work in a super conservative environment but feel like the one thing I can get away with on a regular basis is a bold lip so I was so excited to see so many dark/bright colors (although the more nude shades are gorgeous, too). My excitement for these has well surpassed that for the lip butters...cannot wait to see what Revlon has up a sleeve next!!

  6. They look gorgeous and you're really pretty too. And by the way, these balm stains make your lips look sexy and if I do say so myself, kissable. I love you sooooo much, and let me say it again, you, your eyes, lips, legs, body, top and bottom looks really sexy!!
