Monday Questionnaire: July 30th, 2012!

Hi everyone!  Haven't done a Monday Questionnaire for a little while now, but was in the mood for one today!  I like these because it's a bit different from beauty product posts, and it gives us the chance to get to know each other a bit better.  Feel free to participate in the comments section below! :)

Favorite photo of the week: I spent my weekend taking sailing lessons, and one of the best things about being on the water is seeing all of the sea life the ocean has to offer!  Here are some sea lions I found lounging on a dock!

NEW! Benefit Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss: Review + Swatches!

Today's featured product is the recently released Benefit Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss.  The Sugarbomb Boxed Powder is one of Benefit's best sellers, so I was really curious to see if its corresponding gloss would be just as great!

Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow Palette in Rich Temptaions: Review + Swatches!

Revlon has been one of my favorite beauty brands for quite some time now, but I didn't get around to trying their CustomEyes eyeshadow palettes until recently.  These palettes feature five different colors in long rectangular packaging.  The palette in this post is Rich Temptations, which has a subdued color scheme of neutrals, pinks, and a green.

NYX Blush in Nutmeg: Review + Swatch!

Today's featured product is the NYX blush in Nutmeg: a light, pink-toned brown with a matte finish.  This caught my eye because it reminded me of my oh-so-loved MAC blush in Gingerly.  I love brown blushes because they go really nicely with bright/dark colors on the eyes!

Nail of the Day: Butter London Wallis!

Today's NOTD has been one of my favorite polishes for a while now, Butter London Wallis.  This is a medium gold toned olive green with golden olive microshimmer, and I absolutely love it.  I don't typically love green on my nails, but this color is so unique and beautiful that I feel it really adds a cool touch to any look.  It isn't overbearing in-your-face, but definitely still catches the eye!

natural light, 2 coats

Like most Butter London polishes, the formulation on this one is really easy to work with.  Not too thick, not too thin, and two coats was plenty for full opacity.  Butter London polishes retail for $14 and can be purchased numerous places, including Nordstrom and Ulta!

My MAC Eyeshadow Palettes: Browns Palette!

Today I wanted to share another one of my MAC eyeshadow palettes, my "browns" palette.  This is my second most loved palette next to my light neutrals palette, because I find brown eyeshadow to be one of the best colors for sculpting the eyes and making them pop.  As you can see, this palette isn't entirely filled, mostly because I haven't had a depotting session in a while!  Therefore, I'm including my individual brown eyeshadows at the bottom of this post as well.

Benefit Sugarbomb Boxed Powder: Review + Swatches!

I'm back today with Benefit's Boxed Powder in Sugarbomb.  This is another one of those products I have heard people rave about forever, but didn't actually add to my collection until recently.  Unlike most of Benefit's other boxed powders, Sugarbomb contains four different shades that can be mixed together or used separately.

Maybelline Gold Lights Eyeshadow Quad: Review + Swatches!

Maybelline has released a new line of eyeshadow quads called Luminous Lights. This new line features four different quads with illuminating colors.  Of the four on the display at my CVS, the Gold Lights quad stood out to me most.

MAC Pinch O' Peach Blush: Review + Swatch!

I've been meaning to feature my entire MAC blush collection on this blog for a while now, and I'm finally getting around to organizing and creating posts!  Today I wanted to share one of my favorite MAC blushes, Pinch O' Peach.  This is one of my favorite everyday blushes.

Nail of the Day: Revlon Pale Cashmere

I am in LOVE. Today's NOTD is a color from Revlon's newer Colorstay Nail Polish line, which is one of my favorite nail polish formulations ever. Pale Cashmere is a very, very light pink cream that is just fantastic on the nails.  This is very similar to another favorite of mine, OPI Bubble Bath, but I like the overall finish of Pale Cashmere better, it's a bit more glossy!  It may look more like a nude color in the photo below, but I promise, when you see it with the naked eye, you will detect a definite pink undertone to it.

natural light, 3 coats

The formulation on this was good, however it was very sheer.  The above finish took three coats to achieve, and if you look closely, you can see it is still a bit sheer.  I quite like the look of a semi-sheer light pink/nude like this one, so I don't mind.  Most polishes of this shade are usually pretty sheer as well, so I don't take this as a knock on Revlon's formula specifically.

Revlon Colorstay nail polishes retail for roughly $8 and can be purchased wherever Revlon is sold.  I cannot say enough good things about this line (Buttercup is another one I've recently raved about, as well as the top and base coat), so I highly recommend it.

NEW! Sigma Sigmax Flat Angled Brushes

Sigma Beauty has added some new brushes to their Synthetic Sigmax line, featuring the same design/bristles/handles of the original brushes, but a new Flat Angled shape.  I've raved about the Sigmax line for some time now, and I'm happy to say these new brushes are the same quality as the others I've tried.

Rimmel Match Perfection Blush in 004: Review + Swatches!

Today's featured product is the Rimmel Match Perfection Blush in 004 (Medium/Dark).  This caught my eye in the drugstore a while back, and I figured that because Rimmel had a $1 off coupon on the display, I would give it a whirl!

MAC Star Wonder Mineralize Skinfinish: Review & Swatch!

MAC's new Heavenly Creatures collection hit stores last week, and while I tried very hard to resist, one of the mineralize skinfinishes got the best of me.  Star Wonder is a plummy rose with gold shimmer, and while I usually gravitate more toward matte/satin face powders, this one was too beautiful to pass up.

NEW! Benefit See & Be Seen Sasha Fragrance

Nail of the Day: China Glaze Riveting

Today's NOTD is China Glaze Riveting, from the Hunger Games inspired Capitol Colours collection.  This is a fire orange with a gold shimmer to it, and definitely makes a statement on the nails!  This isn't the type of color I would wear year round, but on a hot summer day with the right outfit, it is a nice pop of color!

natural light, 2 coats

Fun fact: this was originally named "Fire in Flight", but China Glaze ended up having licensing issues with The Hunger Games franchise, so the names were all changed.  I liked the original names better... they had connections to the story and characters!

This collection is available at Ulta and most places China Glaze is sold!
