Rimmel Match Perfection Blush in 004: Review + Swatches!

Today's featured product is the Rimmel Match Perfection Blush in 004 (Medium/Dark).  This caught my eye in the drugstore a while back, and I figured that because Rimmel had a $1 off coupon on the display, I would give it a whirl!

This powder contains three different matte shades: a medium pink, dark tan, and brown.  Oddly, this is the darkest shade of the Match Perfection Blush range, yet it was the only one I felt would be dark enough to use as a blush/bronzer on my light complexion.  I love the design of this product, that it has minimal plastic and maximum powder in the packaging, and the detail in the powder is really cute!

As for quality, I was pretty disappointed with this blush.  It has good pigmentation, but the formula is really chalky and powdery.  Precisely swatched on my skin below it doesn't look too bad, but blended on my cheeks it looked like a chalky mess.  It's too bad, because the colors, packaging, and price are all very appealing to me!

The original price for this item was around $3, but with the $1 Off coupon I ended up getting it for less.  Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this product, because the formulation lacked so much.  For $3, I would recommend getting one of the ELF Studio Blushes, which are far more outstanding in quality!

Are there any products that have really failed you lately?
xx, Allison

  1. I absolutely hate the elf blushes! (too chalky in my opinion) I would say, save your money on those and get the Milani baked blushes (only about $7-8, bogo 50% off and it'll only be about $6 each) Best blushes at the drugstore!~
