L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte: Review + Swatch!

ATTENTION: I need you to stop what you're doing, have a seat, and tell your cats to gather around.  I'm about to share my newest obsession: L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadows.  These were released sometime last year, and ever since I've been passing them in the drugstore, curious, but never curious enough to actually try them.  That is, until I found them BOGO 50% Off at Walgreens last week.  Today I wanted to share my favorite shadow of the line so far, Iced Latte.

These eyeshadows come in clear jars with twist off lids, and to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the packaging.  I like that I can see what color the eyeshadow is inside, but anything with a fully detachable lid (which I will presumably spend time digging under my bed/couch/vanity to retrieve) is not as convenient as can be.

These jars also all come with a plastic insert, which helps keep the powder pressed down tightly.

Iced Latte is a beautiful, metallic light neutral with a slight golden undertone.  The actual formulation of these shadows is very much like pressed eyeshadow pigments, rather than regular powder.  This is why the plastic insert shown above is important to keep the powder/pigment from unsettling.

The first time I swatched this, my jaw dropped.  The pigmentation with just a tap of my finger in the jar was incredible.  Furthermore, it applied to my skin like butter, without an ounce of a crumble or fallout. This is like a pigment that is just as easy to apply as a regular eyeshadow.  The swatch below is just a few swipes on my arm, and do you see how good it looks?!

So there you have it, I'm smitten.  Furthermore, Iced Latte is the first drugstore eyeshadow I have found that has similar reflectivity to my beloved Inglot 395 eyeshadow.  The textures are different (Iced Latte is more metallic), but this is definitely a great drugstore shadow to get that really intense highlight going in the inner corners of the eye.

As far as I've seen, the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows retail for around $8-9.  This is pretty expensive for an individual drugstore shadow, so I would hunt around and wait to score a sale on them.

Stay tuned for future posts of more shades... I took advantage of the sale and scooped up a bunch! :)

Have you tried these shadows?
xx, Allison

  1. Oh my gosh! That is a gorgeous shade!!! I may have to pick up a few of these myself :)

  2. Wow i have the same exact eyeshasow, but never used it.

  3. I was looking for something kind of sparkly and pretty for school that would have good staying power, and I wanted something drugstore that was comparable to high end. Thanks Allison! I'll be looking for a BOGO sale and be sure to pick some of these up!

  4. I have this eyeshadow too, and I LOVE using it in the inner corners of my eyes. But to use for my original purpose, as a base for eyeshadows on the lid, it's not as great. It applies well to the lid, but if I tried to put any shadow in my crease, the Iced Latte would would get gunked up in my crease brush and make blending almost impossible. So, although it's not a very good lid color, I will continue to use it for inner corner highlighting.

  5. Try Amber Rush! It's a gorgeous warm champagney copper :-)

  6. I love this eyeshadow! I've noticed that they can be worn without a primer and don't crease at all. With a coupon and an eye out, I managed to get it for $2 at Kroger. Best deal ever!

  7. I love this eyeshadow so much!

  8. Have you tried Giorgio Armani eyes to kill shadows? loreal is the owner of them which is why they are so similar!

  9. Culd this b used as a is very shimmer
