The official NARS description for the Vent Glacé shades is "Platinum/Silver Smoke". I would describe the left shade as a frosty grey silver, and the right shade as a frosty medium grey with a khaki olive undertone to it. The right shade definitely has a subtle green tint to it, which is one of the reasons I was so drawn to it. It's beautiful, but not overpowering!
Swatched on my arm, you can see that the left shade looks like a warm silver, and the right shade looks like a green grey. Both are very reflective and frosty. These look great worn together, or separately! One thing that frustrates me sometimes with NARS duos is the colors don't seem to go together, but these certainly do.
NARS has one of the best eyeshadow formulations I've ever used. These shadows are pigmented, smooth, longwearing, and overall flattering on the skin. NARS eyeshadow duos retail for $34, and at first glance I always feel like NARS is much more expensive than other department store brands, such as MAC. However, when you break down grams-per-dollar for these eyeshadows, they are actually less expensive than MAC:
MAC Eyeshadows: 1.5g for $15 (4g for $40)
NARS Eyeshadows: 4g for $34
Always a good idea to break down this sort of stuff to maximize what you are getting for your money!
I'm excited to have a new NARS eyeshadow baby in my collection, as I think these colors will be flattering on my blue eyes, and wearable without being boring. If you are looking for some new colors to try, I have absolutely no complaints with this product, and recommend it!
What is your favorite eyeshadow brand formulation? I think mine is a tie between NARS, Urban Decay, and MAC.
