NARS Blush in Deep Throat: Review + Swatch!

I've finally photographed and reviewed most of my MAC blushes for this blog, so now I'm moving on to another one of my favorite blush brands, NARS.  Today I'm sharing my favorite NARS blush with you, Deep Throat.  Yes, the product names from this brand can be a little provocative, but it seems to work in their marketing platform because NARS blushes are some of the most raved about in the industry.

Deep Throat is a sheer peachy pink with light golden shimmer to it.  While it looks fairly shimmery in the pan, it mostly looks satin-y on the cheeks.  I love this as an everyday color.

This is a perfect shade for my light complexion, as it is sheer enough that I don't have to worry about overdoing it.  However, this can be built up quite a bit, so medium complexions would have no trouble wearing it as well.

NARS blushes come in rubberized black compact casing.  I love the design of these compacts: there is a good product-to-casing ratio (as in, not an enormous case with a tiny little pot of product in it).  Additionally, a full-size lid mirror is in each compact.  The downside of these is that the rubberized finish attracts every fingerprint and fleck of makeup.  They get dirty very quickly.

NARS blushes retail for $28 (0.16 oz/ 4.8 g) and can be purchased wherever NARS cosmetics are sold.

Have you tried any NARS blushes before?
xx, Allison

  2. I currently have Sin, Gilda, Desire, Orgasm and Super Orgasm. I had Lovejoy at one point. I wore Gilda a lot this past spring and summer, and I love Sin for the fall and winter. Desire is very pretty, but it is matte and extremely intense, even with the lightest tap into it with the brush; so, I typically prepare my cheeks for it by first applying a soft and smooth translucent powder to diffuse the color when applied, and to aid with blending.
